From September 2010 the playgroup fees are increasing to £4.50 per hour for all children.  This includes the Lunch Club

Scrap books are increasing from £2 per half term to £3 per half term.

We have received the wonderful news that we have been given a grant of nearly £25,000.00 to improve our outside area.  The changes will include replacing the astro-turf, new rubber road for bikes, shade sail, new equipment, outside tap, and much more.  The children and staff cannot wait!

Once again we were invited to attend the Outstanding Providers Conference.  This is our second year in a row that we have achieved Outstanding and been invited to attend the conference.  Well done Team!!

On 24th February Ofsted arrived unannounced at Bobtails, Horley Infant School.  The Inspection is the second Inspection in eight months!  The Inspection took place under the new Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines and I have great pleasure to tell you that we received OUTSTANDING for the second time!  You can view the full report on the Ofsted website.

On our last day of term as we broke up for the Christmas holidays I received a wonderful early Christmas present. I received a letter from Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector Christine Gilbert congratulating me and my team at Bobtails Playgroup, Horley Infant School on receiving an OUTSTANDING Judgement at our recent Ofsted Inspection.  The letter said “One of my most enjoyable annual duties as Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector is to publish a list of providers that were judged to be outstanding when they were inspected.  Please accept my warmest congratulations on achieving this very high standard of practice”  The Bobtails team will  also be invited to attend a special event where Ofsted will mark our achievements and meet Christine Gilbert in person!  The letter also said “Please accept my sincere congratulations once again and my thanks for all you are doing to raise standards across the sector and, in doing so, improving lives.”

Bobtails is again very proud to report that our Playgroup at Horley Infant School received an OUTSTANDING Judgement from Ofsted in July 2008.  This is the third Outstanding Judgement we have received at our Horley Playgroups in the last 4 years!

Ofsted arrived unannounced at our Horley Infant playgroup just two days after we moved into our new building!  Ofsted were so impressed with our playgroup that they made NO recommendations to improve it!  This is extremely rare!  You can view all of our reports online on the Ofsted website.

Follow our OUTSANDING Judgement from Ofsted, Surrey County Council have awarded us a grant for £26,000.00 to add an outside learning environment to our fantastic new playgroup building “The Warren”. 

Parents and Children were involved in what the money will be spent on which will include a outdoor gazebo classroom, new playhouse, a sensory and vegetable garden, and lots more.  We will also be using different textures including a mixture of Astro-turf and rubber incorporating a road and river!  New play equipment is also being brought.  This should all be in place for when we open in September!!

The children enjoyed four weeks in the new building before we broke up in July.  The fantastic  new building offers the children the opportunity to have free-flow learning between inside and outside.  The children continue to use the rest of the school facilities including the hall and library which eases transition between playgroup and school.
